Steely Dan tribute album with Jimmy Herring as guest

THE ROYAL DAN Tone Center 4047 :: May 9 Release date Steely Dan More than a tribute, this all-star lineup reimagines 10 Steely Dan classics as jazz-rock fusion instrumental jams. Produced by Jeff Richman, who organized previous fusion all-star salutes to John Coltrane, Miles Davis, and The Mahavishnu Orchestra for Tone Center, the set streets on May 9. Without a doubt, Richman morphed these cats into a fantastic band. The core group consists of Ernie Watts, saxophones; Jeff Richman, guitars; Peter Wolf, keyboards; Jimmy Haslip, bass; and Vinnie Colaiuta, drums. Special guest guitarists include: Robben Ford on "Peg" Steve Morse on "Bodhisattva" Jay Graydon on "Home at Last" Al DiMeola on "Aja" Steve Lukather on "Pretzel Logic" Mike Stern on "Dirty Work" Jimmy Herring on "The Fez" Frank Gambale on "FM" Elliot Randall on "Hey Nineteen" (Richman is the featured soloist on "Josie")
